Their Future In Our Hands
The Deep, Hull HU1 4DP
Delivering competitive advantage through raising expectations and striving for excellence.
In a competitive economic environment, businesses continually need to improve, adapt and be flexible to the changing world around them in order to evolve and maintain a commercial advantage. People are key and therefore it is vital that we equip every young person with the appropriate educational and employability skills to enable them flourish and have the chance to reach their full potential.
HBBC is pleased to join forces with Run With It, Teen Tech and Arco to present a session which will look at the way these organisations are interacting with children, young people and adult learners to deliver learning programmes focusing on supporting them with STEM subjects, numeracy, literacy, the development of self-esteem and employability skills.
The event will also highlight how an excellent CSR strategy within a business can provide opportunities for employees to develop different skills and create new relationships outside of the work environment.
Run With It is a charity that enriches minds and encourages learning with a difference! Using the KCOM Stadium to innovate, inspire and capture children’s imagination, they deliver a range of innovative and creative study support programmes to support work in literacy, numeracy and ICT with a focus on addressing the needs of underachieving young people and placing a strong emphasis on improving pupil’s attitudes, confidence, self-esteem, and life skills and in doing so, increase their motivation to learn.
TeenTech was founded in 2008 by Maggie Philbin and Chris Dodson to help young people understand the real opportunities available in the contemporary STEM workplace and engender some excitement about technology and entrepreneurship.
At Arco supporting the communities that they serve is at the heart of their business. This commitment is brought to life by their colleague driven Community Panel, various partnerships and charitable giving. Their volunteering ethos gives colleagues two days paid leave each year to participate in activities of their choice to support organisations in their local communities across the UK.
