We are delighted to welcome guest speaker Louise Kirby. Louise is Director of Operations & People at The Deep in Hull, responsible for the aquarium’s visitors and crew since construction began in 1999. The Deep is now internationally acclaimed, has welcomed over 7 million visitors and employs 170 people. As a champion of service excellence, people development and accessible tourism, Louise delights in raising aspirations and achievement within her home region and the wider industry. Louise will provide an insight into the success which The Deep has achieved retaining their dedicated workforce who form a vital part of their outstanding achievements.
Speaking alongside Louise, Recruitment Director Kate van der Sluis is Director of Emmerson Kitney and Smailes Goldie is responsible for developing client relationships across the Humber. The recruitment group, now in it’s 9th year in the region, has grown 25% year on year and is now the largest independent specialist search firm in East Yorkshire, offering recruitment across professional areas such as Accountancy, HR, Sales, Marketing and IT and Engineering. Kate also sits on the Advisory Board for Marketing Humber, and the Employment & Skills Board of the Humber LEP, and founded the Humber LEP Talent Forum, working with HR colleagues across the region to improve productivity through great recruitment and retention strategies.
