At the end of 2017 the Government published its Industrial Strategy and Clean Growth Strategy followed in January 2018 by A Green Future:  Our 25 year plan to improve the Environment.

Clean Growth is concerned with achieving a low carbon economy and covers such topics as energy efficiency in premises and homes, low carbon power generation and transport, and enhancing the benefits and value of the country’s natural resources.  The 25 Year Environment Plan is based on protecting and gaining value from natural capital –

* Using and managing land sustainably

* Recovering nature and enhancing the beauty of landscapes

* Connecting people with the environment to improve health and wellbeing

* Increasing resource efficiency

* Securing clean and biologically diverse seas and oceans.

It restates the Government’s commitment to leave the environment in a better state than it inherited.

The conference will consider the implications of these documents for the sustainable management of the Humber Estuary and its environs, and hear about practical initiatives that are in progress.

Speakers are drawn from Humber Local Enterprise Partnership, Humber Nature Partnership, Integrated Green Energy Solutions (the company behind the new Humber Gate Plastic to Fuel Plant) and Engie.

Event sponsorship opportunities are also available.  The full agenda is available at www.catchuk.org
