Inspiring People Dinner

Inspiring People Dinner

HullBID is delighted to again support Humber Business Week 2024 with our Inspiring People Dinner.  We are delighted to present three very individual and highly-regarded speakers from the private, public and charity sectors, who will entertain and inspire.

Paul Anderson, Chief Constable of Humberside Police
Paul became chief constable of Humberside in 2023 and has been an officer for over 33 years, with experience across the ranks from community and investigative posts through to specialist operations.  Paul has taken the force on a remarkable journey having been in special measures just six years ago, to being graded ‘outstanding’ in 6 out of 9 categories in a report released last November by independent watchdog HMICFRS, with the force accredited with the highest number of ‘outstanding’ grades of any of the 43 police forces in England.

Natasha Barley, CEO, Sailors’ Children’s Society
Natasha Barley is the CEO of Sailors’ Children’s Society. SCS is a national charity supporting families of seafarers in times of crisis such as a bereavement, diagnosis of an illness or family breakdown. Natasha has worked in the charity sector for 11 years and in education prior to that having worked internationally teaching in Canada, China, and Thailand. A 2017 Common Purpose Humber Leaders programme graduate and 2019 CLORE Emerging Leaders programme graduate.

David Kilburn CBE, Founder, MKM
David founded MKM in 1995, alongside close friend Peter Murray, and has grown the merchant from a single site in Hull to more than 100 branches across the UK.   He still plays an active role in MKM today, but also uses his significant platform to help influence and nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs across Hull and the East Riding. He is a founder of For Entrepreneurs Only, an organisation providing support and advice to people setting up businesses in Yorkshire.  David received a CBE in 2023 in recognition of his services to the construction industry and charity.

Cost: Free. Priority will be given to businesses located within the Hull Business Improvement District (BID), however additional tickets may be available on a reserve list for non-BID members.  Contact [email protected] to reserve.
